Trauma Therapy for LGBTQ+ Adults

Trauma is not always a single event. Sometimes it is the effect of living for a long time without enough safety, acceptance, or emotional support.

For LGBTQ+ adults, painful experiences may include rejection, bullying, shame, family difficulties, discrimination, or years of feeling that parts of yourself had to be hidden.

I offer trauma-informed relational psychotherapy for LGBTQ+ adults in Swansea, Carmarthen, and online across the UK.

You May Be Struggling With

  • anxiety or emotional overwhelm
  • shame or self-blame
  • difficulty trusting others
  • feeling disconnected from yourself

Therapy is not about forcing you to revisit painful experiences before you feel ready. It can begin with safety, pacing, and understanding.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Trauma-informed therapy pays attention to what has happened to you, how you have survived, and what your nervous system may have learned in order to protect you.

My work is relational, collaborative, and paced carefully.

I aim to offer therapy that is:

  • emotionally safe
  • LGBTQ+ affirming
  • respectful of your pace
  • grounded in relationship and trust

Therapy and Self-Understanding

Many trauma responses once made sense as ways of surviving. Therapy can help you understand these responses with less shame and more compassion.

Over time, this may support a greater sense of choice, connection, and emotional steadiness.
