Mental Health and Therapy
Mental health does not always fit a neat category. You might be anxious, low, exhausted, stuck, angry, disconnected, or simply aware that something in life does not feel right.
You do not need a diagnosis or a fully formed explanation for your experience to matter.

What affects how we feel

Relationships, work, money, loss, identity, physical surroundings, past experiences and the wider world can all shape mental health. Often, there is more than one thing going on at once.
Difficulty can be quiet as well as obvious
You may notice that:
- you are getting through the day but feel far from yourself
- small things feel harder than they used to
- you are tired of holding everything together
- you do not know how to explain what is wrong
- you wonder whether your difficulties are serious enough to mention

There is room for nuance

Feeling distressed does not make you broken. It may be a response to something that has happened, something that is still happening, or something that has been difficult to put into words.
For LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people, the effort of navigating environments that do not always recognise or accommodate you can be part of that picture.
