Receiving or considering an ADHD diagnosis in adulthood can bring relief, grief, anger, confusion, and a new way of understanding your life.
You may begin to look back at school, work, relationships, burnout, or self-criticism through a different lens.
I offer relational psychotherapy for late-diagnosed ADHD adults in Swansea, Carmarthen, and online across the UK.
You May Be Exploring
- masking and exhaustion
- shame or self-criticism
- grief about the past
- a changing sense of identity
A diagnosis can explain a great deal, but it does not automatically resolve the emotional impact of years spent trying to cope.
Therapy After Diagnosis
Therapy can provide space to make sense of what ADHD means for you personally, not just as a list of symptoms.
This may include understanding old survival strategies, relationship patterns, emotional intensity, or the pressure to appear more “together” than you feel.
I aim to offer therapy that is:
- neurodivergence-aware
- reflective and collaborative
- emotionally attuned
- respectful of your own pace
You Do Not Need Everything Worked Out
You do not need to arrive with certainty.
Some people come with a diagnosis. Some are waiting for assessment. Others are simply beginning to recognise patterns that may have been present for a long time.
